Now, here are some few examples of food that do not interact too well with some health status, or disease conditions, or medicines you are taking for those diseases.
1. Spinach and Broccoli are good sources of Vitamin K, which is needed by the body for blood clotting, especially when you have a cut or injury. However, if you are taking medicine to make your blood thinner, then you want to avoid these veggies as they can counteract the effect of these medicines in your body.
2. If you like aged cheese and red wines and you are hypertensive, you may want to avoid these food or drink, because they increase the substance called Tyramine in the body which can contribute to high blood pressure.
3. As healthy as garlic use in food is, you may want to avoid it if you have any kind of bleeding disorder and using antidiabetic medicine.
These are just a few. There are many more of such healthy food and drug/disease interactions. So you should check in with your medical doctor or healthcare professional on your diet vs. your health conditions to be sure that what you’re eating/drinking is supporting your medicine and your overall health status optimally.
