
Your heart, body, mind and soul, make up your total health & Wellness package. You can not protect one and ignore the other.
Your heart is the engine room of your body and without it, or if it is not functioning properly, your body will revolt and your mind will be highly disturbed, while your soul collates whatever your heart, mind and body have being breeding, whether good or bad. The mind and soul are the spiritual compartments of your body. Your body is what everyone sees, while your heart and mind are what only you can feel.
If you have to be selfish to protect your heart and mind, please, by all means, be selfish and make sure they are feeling and sitting in a good place before you allow any distractions.
For your body, it is easy if you have been following/ reading my blogs, which have been mainly about investing in the care of your body by adequate and indivualized tailored exercises, sleeping for the right amount of time as an adult (7-9hours), eating right/ balanced diet daily and always, avoiding unnecessary stress, life throws enough at us already without asking for it. Plus, watching your lifestyle choices such as limiting alcohol consumption and stopping smoking.
The mind needs feeding with positive and motivational investments through reading of inspiring books, articles, blogs, listening to motivational speakers or webinars, and interacting with people who add to you and not take away from you. Meditation and participating in spiritual exercises are also great ways to feed both the mind and the soul.
I hope this blog will encourage you to re-evaluate if and how you are protecting and investing in your total self.
