A new research has confirmed what we have always known, that exercising helps one sleep better or fight off sleeplessness or insomnia.

While one study explains insomnia as being clinically significant for both daytime and nighttime symptoms, as difficulty initiating sleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, and/or non-restorative ( refreshing) sleep with associated consequences. It shows that:
– 16% of the global population is estimated to have insomnia.
– More females tend to suffer from insomnia than males.
Yet another research has concluded that the following 4 simple and uncomplicated exercises, help to support sleeping well ( adequate sleep for an adult is, 7 to 9 hours of restful sleep).
1. Yoga
2. Walking
3 Tai Chi
4.Jogging

With the global nature of this sleeping disorder called insomnia, I am adding my voice to the call for all governments in the world to manage this as a public health concern and put health policies in place to manage it.
Meanwhile, in our individual corners and for our individual well-being, let’s practice these 4 exercises daily either jointly or each exercise based on our physical capabilities. A good idea is to alternate these exercises.
